Tiancheng Fang, Ph.DPostdoctoral Fellow

Tiancheng joined the Scadden lab in 2020 with an interest in modulating T cell immunity. Her current project is on discovering novel therapeutics for regenerating the thymus — the main organ for T cell production.

Following her enthusiasm in translational research, Tiancheng earned her doctoral degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, under the mentorship of Dr. John Chute. During graduate school, Tiancheng was investigating DNA repair in hematopoietic stem cells regeneration. Her research identified that epidermal growth factor is able to promote hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells regeneration through activation of non-homologous end joining (Fang et al. Blood 2020).
